How will the SNP boost trade and exports in Europe?
Nicola Sturgeon has announced a four point plan to boost trade and exports to ensure Europe knows that Scotland is open for business.
We are establishing a new Board of Trade in the Scottish Government, setting up a new trade envoy scheme and creating a permanent trade representation in Berlin. Our trade envoy scheme will ask prominent Scots to help us boost our export effort, and our permanent trade representation in Berlin will add to our Investment hubs in Dublin, London and Brussels.
We will also double the number of Scottish Development International staff working across Europe to support investment and trade opportunities for Scotland. These additional resources will work to identify, nurture and develop new opportunities for Scottish companies in priority sectors and markets.
