How will the SNP tackle the bullying of LGBTI young people in schools?
There is no place in Scotland for prejudice or discrimination – everyone deserves to be treated fairly regardless of age, disability, gender, gender identity, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or sexual orientation. We want all children and young people to be able to learn in schools free from discrimination, so that they can learn and reach their full potential.
We expect all new guidance and promoted teachers – and eventually all teachers – to undertake training on equality, so they are confident in tackling prejudice-based bullying. We will provide additional funding where required.
We will work towards every profession working with children being trained on equality, to help address prejudice-based bullying, attachment, child development and child protection.
