Is Scotland safer under the SNP?

The SNP Scottish Government have taken many steps to ensure Scotland is a safe place to live, and Scotland is now safer with recorded crime at a 43 year low.

Since we took office, non-sexual violent crime is down by 49 per cent, robberies are down 60 per cent and handling offensive weapons – including knife crime – is down by 68 per cent. Between 2008 and 2014, Scotland saw a 37 per cent drop in homicide – one of the biggest falls in the western world.

The reconviction rate has been reduced to its lowest level in 18 years, thanks to tough community sentences.
