What housing support is the SNP giving to disabled Scots?
The SNP are committed to enabling disabled people to live independently in their own homes where possible. This includes the ability to adapt houses to make them suitable for those with reduced mobility and other needs – and financial support that recognises the higher cost of living faced by disabled people.
In 2015-16 the SNP government will maintain £10 million funding for Registered Social Landlords to carry out home adaptations to help meet the needs of older and disabled people to live comfortably and safely at home. In this parliament we will also provide guidance and timescales for installing adaptations where they are needed.
