David Linden

Glasgow East

Originally from Cranhill, before moving to Garrowhill with his family, David Linden is an East End lad and has been an SNP activist for 17 years.

He went to Milncroft Primary School, Garrowhill Primary School and the onton Bannerman High School in Baillieston.

He spent his early working life in the finance sector within the underwriting team at Access Loans & Mortgages, then undertook a qualification in Business Administration, which he completed during his years at Glasgow Credit Union.

Following the SNP’s historic Glasgow East by-election victory in 2008, David worked as a caseworker in the Glasgow East constituency office, where he assisted hundreds of local people and built up strong relationships with community groups & leaders as well as local businesses.

David was elected as the Member of Parliament for Glasgow East on 8th June 2017 and has used his time in the House of Commons thus far to campaign for fair pay for under-25s, the removal of the baby benefit bar and against the proliferations of Fixed Odds Betting Terminals.

He is married to Roslyn, a Primary School Teacher, and they one young son, Isaac. In his spare time, David enjoys combining his interest in running and fundraising for good causes, which he recently did by raising nearly £3000 for East End Carers, whilst running the London marathon.  David is also an avid fisherman and supports Airdrieonians FC.
