Joan McAlpine

Joan McAlpine was a journalist and has worked for a number of leading newspapers including The Scotsman, The Herald and The Sunday Times. She is a former Journalist of the Year in the Scottish Press Awards and has recently won a number of commendations for her personal blog, Go Lassie Go.
Joan was born in Gourock, Renfrewshire and attended St Ninian’s Primary school in Gourock and St Columba’s secondary in Greenock. She has an MA (Hons) in Scottish History and Economic History from The University of Glasgow.
Joan was married to the musician and writer Pat Kane and they have two daughters, Grace and Eleanor.
