Kevin Stewart

Aberdeen Central

Kevin is Aberdonian born and bred and was first elected to represent Aberdeen Central at the Scottish Parliament in May 2011. Prior to that Kevin was an Aberdeen City councillor for 12 years from 1999 until 2012.

Kevin is currently the Convener of the Scottish Parliament’s Local Government and Regeneration Committee and serves as First Minister Nicola Sturgeon’s Parliamentary Liaison Officer.

His proudest achievement is having served as the chair of the 3Rs Board, which delivered ten new schools in Aberdeen.

Kevin has a keen interest in the history of Aberdeen and at his instigation the city has its own statue of Robert the Bruce, to commemorate the granting of the Freedom Lands to Aberdeen, which led to the Common Good Fund.
